Posted on March 10, 2026 by Dani Cannella

1 Upcoming NVIDIA workshop on accelerating Python with GPUs on April 3. Registration closes on March 25.

NVIDIA is hosting a guest workshop for the USC Center for Advanced Research Computing (CARC) on April 3, 10:00 Am - 12:00 PM PST.

2 Workshop overview

Participants will gain hands-on experience accelerating Python code using NVIDIA GPUs. Code samples will be used in two primary areas to introduce GPU-accelerated Python computing.

First, the workshop will explore drop-in replacements for SciPy and NumPy workflows using the CuPy library. The session will then introduce NVIDIA RAPIDS, which provides GPU acceleration for end-to-end data science workloads.

The workshop will conclude with a geospatial example that integrates the tools covered during the session.

3 Prerequisites

Participants should have basic familiarity with Python. Experience with NumPy and/or Scikit-learn is beneficial but not required.

4 Registration

Registration is required and must be completed using a valid school email address (for example, @usc.edu). Registrations submitted using personal email accounts (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) will not be approved.

Registration closes March 25.
